The LoRa Modules provide “field” communications for the Hunter Universal Communications Hub (UCH). They communicate directly with battery-operated field controllers. The LoRa Module can be installed in either of the UCH's communication slots. The remaining slot is for the “cloud” module (Wi-Fi, LAN, or Cell), which connects the controller software.
- The A2C-LORA Module is for North American and select Latin American operations at 915 MHz.
- The A2C-LORA-E Module is for European and other international operations at 433 MHz.

- Turn the power off at the UCH using the power switch.
- Insert the LoRa Module in either slot until it clicks into place.
- Turn power back on. If installation is successful, a solid green light will appear beneath the module slot. A red light indicates an error and means the module should be replaced.
NOTE: The A2C-LORA and A2C-LORA-E Modules are not compatible with the ACC2 Controller and are intended only for use in the UCH Hubs.
Antenna placement is the most important factor in wireless communication.
- The antenna must be installed in an outdoor location. If the UCH is located indoors, use a Hunter Antenna Extension Kit (model ANT-EXT-KIT) to mount the antenna outdoors. The ANT-EXT-KIT is recommended for all installations to enhance wireless coverage.
- Screw the antenna onto the LoRa Module or the mating connector on the ANT-EXT-KIT cable.
- Route the antenna cable from the module through the conduit opening in the bottom right of the UCH. Continue routing the cable through the conduit to the ANT-EXT-KIT mounting location.
- Secure the antenna cable to the provided mounts in the UCH using the supplied zip ties for strain relief.
NOTE:The ANT-EXT-KIT includes 9' (3 m) of cable. It can be extended using aftermarket low-loss cable, but the total length should not exceed 25' (8 m).
| Light Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Green light, blinking rapidly | LoRa module is actively communicating with the fifield |
| Amber light, blinking | Provisioning/setup process. Will change back to green once the devices are connect to the network |
| No light | There is no power |
| Red light | Module has failed and must be replaced |
The channel on the LoRa module may be changed to any of 10 available channels in the band, but this is only done from the central software.
The A2C-LORA (-E) Module does not have any program memory. There is no factory reset, other than cycling power off and on.
