SkyCommand - Mounting

These instructions cover using a 1.5" hole saw to mount BOC antennas in plastic valve box lids, noting that it may not cut through all lid types and should not be used on metal or concrete. They also outline how to wall‑mount the hub using the provided template and keyhole slot, plus a tip for reaching the recessed screw. Finally, they specify that a licensed electrician must connect AC power by opening the wiring compartment, routing conduit, wiring to labeled terminals, and restoring power.

Hole Saw

A 1.5" (38 mm) hole saw is included for mounting the BOC antennas in individual valve box lids. If necessary, equivalent tools may be purchased locally.
• The hole saw may not fully penetrate all lids due to differences in valve box lid construction.

The hole saw is intended only for BOC device installations in the field, as described in the BOC installation guides. It is not designed for use on metal or concrete covers.

Wall Mounting

The door is packaged separately. Leave it off until the hub is mounted and communication modules are installed. The hub includes a keyhole slot at the top center for mounting and leveling.

  1. Use the enclosed mounting template to mark and drill screws and anchor locations.
  2. Use the top mounting hole as a reference and install a 1.0" (25 mm) screw into the wall. Note: Install screw anchors when attaching to drywall or masonry.
  3. Align the hub with the screw and slide the keyhole over the screw.
  4. Secure the hub by installing screws in the two lower mounting holes.

Access the lower-left screw through the opening beneath the wiring compartment (approximately 3.0" (77 mm) deep). Use a long screwdriver with a magnetic tip for best results.

Connecting AC Power

Operation to be performed by a licensed electrician.

  1. Turn off the AC power source before wiring.
  2. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the wiring compartment cover screw and slide the cover to the right.
  3. Route the AC power wiring into the compartment through a ½" (13 mm) conduit and fitting.
  4. Connect the AC power wires to the provided terminals, as labeled.
  5. Replace the wiring compartment cover, then restore power.
